Colors of Winter from Miami ! Live,Love, laugh

Live, Laugh, Love. I have been told that twice this week by a friend and from one of my cousins....



Colors, shades, the pallet of a painter. Tones of speech, body language and the interpretations of the viewer! Smiles over rides everything, comfortability equals openness.



On a bike, chatting with a friend on the grass, boarding, blading, talking, walking friends connect and work get's done...................................

Back on Miami Beach with the crew of We Love Colors

Returning back to Miami to work with my friends at We Love Colors on a 2 day shoot I have been working with them for 4 years. These types of shoots are always so much fun that the time flies by and where structure is a loose term for everything except for the weather and of course permits. It is one of the coolest things about working with the team at WLC they make it very easy to work with.

We had the permits but we did not have Mother Nature’s approval as she brought in thunder clouds and hid the sun at sunrise and for almost for 2 days of the entire shoot. At any point through out the shoot the sound of crackling thunder would echo around us. On our last shot of day 1 on the beach hiding behind a lifeguard booth sand was swirling around tower the dark clouds moved in. I had maybe 3 minutes at best before… I clicked the shutter 5,4,3,2,1 snap snap snap and then it was that quick… it started to rain not a sprinkle not a few drop of rain but the heaviest of heavy poured on us The only thing I could do was grab for a bag, grab for a towel grab for anything aside from my shirt I could use to hide my camera.. A towel, my hat, a plastic bag, my reflector… first sheltering my camera in my hat then grabbing a towel, then finding a shopping bag full of once cold water bottles dumping them out, then finally after digging through a pile of clothes hidden from the rain sheltered from the sand finally my bag…. It poured on us in for 3 directions: straight down, in from the right, and across to the left….. And I ran as fast as a wounded horse over the wet sand through the rain and my now covered camera bag. I ran all the way to the nearest building which just so happened to be the public bathrooms, the funny thing was it was conditioned. After spending all day in 98 degrees heat I was now in the public bathroom where I am soaking wet and the A/C temperature must have been around 70 degrees … A week later my nose is still running and I have a head cold….

My first trip to London was totally unexpected. With the winter comes
harsh rains & bitter cold which I was completely unprepared for since I was coming
from Miami, where the coldest day is 62 degrees, and where flip flops and shorts are
the
norm. Before heading to London, I headed to NYC for 2 days of prepping and trying to
adjust to wearing heavy socks, shoes, and many layers of clothes.

I was not ready for London, but I had a ticket, and a place to stay
so I was on my way. The United Kingdom was never on my radar since I had dreamed of
traveling to Africa, Asia, Latin America... the list is endless of where I would
like to go, but 8 hours later I was there walking in circles through Gatwick Airport
at 6am in the morning trying to find my luggage.

London at 6:30am is dark: no sun and lots of rain.. I was thinking that if I was
back in Miami, or NYC the sun would be coming up, it would be bright with blue
skies, but again this is London in wintertime and I was going to find out that there
is only sunlight from between 8am – 4pm.

So, I'm here in the United Kingdom to shoot pictures of as many points of
interest as possible, including the museums, the Royal Palaces, the Royal
museums, the Royal hospitals, everything and anything beginning with Royal...
between the few meetings I had set up and the weather I was starting to wonder if
two weeks was enough time to fully explore what London has to offer? I think it's a
good start....

Craig and Richard, who are the owners of WLC, have become some of our closest friends here ... good people and great products.. their shoots are some of the wackiest fun shoots we get to do.... and they still talk to us after all these years! :):)

We've had the opportunity to shoot Serena Williams at her home for the cover of Animal Fair Magazine, shoot (and sample) some of the yummy goodies on the menu at Times Grill in Jacksonville, we've also shot some fun and lively models in colorful tights for a fashion and tights apparel company called We Love Colors, as well as shoot for a more sensual line called DTD Accents for our designer friend, Marjanne Kalf. There was also Fashion with Compassion, a beautiful indian designer label, the CEO of Brown Jordan International for Hearth and Home Magazine, YBF Skincare Line out of Orlando, and many many more... but this is a good taste to see what's been happening in more recent times...

...from small beginings on the road to where we are today and still growing.......
